About the site

This site is composed of my own original words and artworks, collected over several years and hopefully edited into something resembling a usable format. I'd like to say that I hand-coded it, but the sheer quantity of information I have to sift through makes that kinda unweildy these days. I can hand-code, OR I can edit my writing. I'm guessing, personally, that you probably appreciate the editing more at this point than any geek points I could possibly rack up for web skills.

It's coded in Dreamweaver, which is a handy graphic layout tool and doubles nicely as a rudimentary, but still useful, word processing program into the bargain. I chose to use a Very Basic Indeed CSS to dictate my chosen fonts, bells and whistles. The images have been created and/or edited in Photoshop, Illustrator, PaintShop Pro, and Fireworks. I've done my best to make them as web-freindly as possible. All line art not created digitally was hand-drawn by me, inked, scanned, and edited. All photos were taken using a digital camera, though I've been through a few now, so I couldn't tell you what I used on the older ones.

I would like to thank all the people who have corresponded with me about historic costume research over the years. Your questions are what got me thinking about a lot of this.

A note on the advertisements

They are, sadly, unavoidable, as this site is hosted on a free hosting site, but they are supposed to scroll up and out of the way after a few seconds. It's the least obtrusive of the options offered by the server. As soon as we're not scraping by, I plan to purchase hosting service that will do away with ads altogether, but right now it's more important to me to have the information up and available. I have done my best to format the site to make them as unbotrusive as possible.

This page and all contents of this site not otherwise copyrighted are copyright 1996-2004 Branwyn M. Folsom. Steal anything and I will find you. Make money off it and I will send the lawyer-demons after you. So there. Nyah. If you don't like it go away.

This is my disclaimer.

If you are under 18 and surfing the web and your parents would get upset about what you see here, GO AWAY. Please. I don't have anything on this site that I consider to be 'adult' in nature, but there are different definitions of what is and is not acceptable for young persons to see. Some of the historical content could be cosntrued as mature, as would some of my artwork, so don't look at it if your parents still have any say in how you do things - say if you are under 18- or if you don't like things that other people call 'mature.' Likewise, if you don't want to read about underclothes, GO AWAY.

If, however, you are open minded (and your parents don't mind you reading this, or you are old enough not to have to ask them), please feel free to read the portions of my site that you find interesting and useful.
